The Fifth and Sixth Week
Still eating,
sleeping and playing, but the times of play become longer and longer. They go
out with the other dogs, nicely tucked up in their crate, so they can see
everything, but are not exposed to germs etc. Mom doesn't want them to suckle
so much any more, since their teeth are coming through and especially Bailey is
biting too hard. So they have made their acquaintance with food. Now
that is a wonderful thing: you can eat it, rub your nose in it, step in it, even
sleep in it or try to push your brother into it. But most of the time, they are
very well behaved and just enjoy anything I choose to give them. So far they
have had canned meat and bread, puppypellets welled in water, fresh meat, and
lamb and ricepellets. They love chocochips to sharpen their teeth on. They
also started to get interested in balls - risking to get knocked over when the
adults are in the midst of their play - and in socks (they all get my old ones
with holes in them) to play tug-a-war.
I have been very busy playing with
them and keeping my house clean, while the last week of school was going on.
That means lots of tests to make and a lot of correction-work to do, meetings to
attend etc. so I don't have too many photo's this time :-(
Next week is
going to be very exciting: they will get their identificationchip on Tuesday,
their first inoculation Thursday and Friday is the World Dog Show, but that is
only exciting for me. They won't be seeing any of it ... The last few days they
have had collars on for the first time in their lives and next week they will
take their first walks on a leash. Then -finally- we will be able to go to the
Dunes. I fear that is the only exciting thing that they will actually enjoy, but
chips and inoculations can't be skipped. Sorry guys ...

Larousse, sleeping underneath a small kabinet.

Bailey on the
other side of the room, has chosen the company of a teddybear.

Rune, sitting in
the middle, can't decide whom to join and looks at me.

I can't resist and
tuck him away in my shirt and after looking around a bit he falls asleep like
that.

Some years ago I came across this pen-box. I liked it so well that
I was afraid to use it and forgot all about it. I found it again and scanned it
on my computer. Would anyone disagree that that is a lakeland in the middle??!!
